Our robust 360 Kids program helps to boost your child’s focus, respect, confidence, and social skills… while they have fun and work with other awesome kids.
At 360, we teach kids the importance of self-defense through learning how to fight. Our program is designed to build confidence, discipline, and physical fitness while helping kids learn how to protect themselves. We focus on creating a safe and supportive environment where children can develop essential life skills both on and off the mat.
Kickboxing forms the foundation of our striking curriculum, teaching kids how to use their hands, feet, knees, and elbows in controlled, powerful ways. Through a combination of drills and sparring, students will develop speed, accuracy, and coordination while improving their overall fitness. We emphasize proper technique and discipline, ensuring that kids learn how to strike with purpose and responsibility—always within the context of self-defense.
Our Brazilian Jiu Jitsu program teaches kids how to defend themselves on the ground, focusing on leverage, submissions, and escapes. Kids will learn how to remain calm under pressure, defend against larger opponents, and control situations without relying on size or strength. BJJ is not just a physical skill but a mental one, helping kids develop problem-solving abilities and resilience. We prepare them to face real-life challenges with confidence and composure.
Hurry! Spots are limited in all of our programs. This helps us to keep a lower coach to student ratio and give every student the attention they need to get the most out of the program.
Most frequent questions and answers about our Children's Martial Arts Program
We always emphasize when and where students should practice the skills they learn in classes- and that is only on the mat. We stress that these skills are only to be used as a last resort to defend themselves. If we see any students that are using the skills inappropriately or are treating others with anything less than respect, we immediately address it. The vast majority of kids increase their confidence and learn to treat others with kindness and respect.
We don’t require parents to stay during classes. However, we do find that parents who get involved with their kids’ progress truly build a solid connection as they see their child grow in confidence and skill. And building strong family units is important to us at 360 Krav Maga for our Long Beach community.
Make sure your child wears comfortable athletic clothes. Athletic shorts/pants and a t-shirt are perfect. Ensure the pants/shorts have no zippers or buttons. No jewelry or watches. Long hair should be tied back. They will be barefoot on the mat.
Bring a water bottle- we will provide everything else!
It has the potential to. We have had students with ADHD be very successful in our program. We always stress the importance of focus, and it is a vital component to kids’ success in our program. As long as a child is willing to work on their focus and is receptive to prompts from the instructors, they will be able to participate and grow in our program.
We encourage parents to watch their children in their lessons. We love parents getting involved! And so do their kids. We ask that you do not coach your child from the sidelines- it is important that their focus remains on the coaches in the class.
If you don’t want to stay, you can always drop off your kid and get some time to yourself.
Probably not. You will find that martial arts can be a great sport for kids who are not good at sports. Our classes include a lot of individual work and partner work.
The journey from white belt to black belt is different for each student. But what is the same…. they improve coordination, balance, motor skills, focus and discipline. Plus, they make lots of great friends!
Our instructors are highly skilled in teaching martial arts for kids, and will help guide your kid throughout their journey.
This is probably the BEST kids activity for children who sit a lot!
Getting them active, without them realizing they are learning, is our skill. Kicking and punching pads is such a great stress relief, that kids blossom in all areas – because of their martial arts training.
Many Long Beach parents find that when their kids train at 360, they see a happier, more social child develop right before their eyes. It takes time, and you’ll be glad they started training.
