Martial arts is not just self defense. It’s a tool we use to help kids become leaders. We have seen time and time again kids build confidence from learning and sharpening their skills.
Kids learn and develop strong, healthy boundaries. And boundaries are so essential to helping kids thrive.
Discipline and respect are expectations we set and enforce, and this carries over in their lives beyond the mat.
Kids who train martial arts have a higher success rate in school. Why? Discipline, focus, goal setting, and drive. Our classes help reinforce these principles.
We have seen some truly incredible transformations from kids who consistently train.
Hurry! Spots are limited in all of our programs. This helps us to keep a lower coach to student ratio and give every student the attention they need to get the most out of the program.
Most frequent questions and answers about our Children's Martial Arts Program
We always emphasize when and where students should practice the skills they learn in classes- and that is only on the mat. We stress that these skills are only to be used as a last resort to defend themselves. If we see any students that are using the skills inappropriately or are treating others with anything less than respect, we immediately address it. The vast majority of kids increase their confidence and learn to treat others with kindness and respect.
We don’t require parents to stay during classes. However, we do find that parents who get involved with their kids’ progress truly build a solid connection as they see their child grow in confidence and skill. And building strong family units is important to us at 360 Krav Maga for our Long Beach community.
Make sure your child wears comfortable athletic clothes. Athletic shorts/pants and a t-shirt are perfect. Ensure the pants/shorts have no zippers or buttons. No jewelry or watches. Long hair should be tied back. They will be barefoot on the mat.
Bring a water bottle- we will provide everything else!
It has the potential to. We have had students with ADHD be very successful in our program. We always stress the importance of focus, and it is a vital component to kids’ success in our program. As long as a child in willing to work on their focus and is receptive to prompts from the instructors, they will be able to participate and grow in our program.
We encourage parents to watch their children in their lessons. We love parents getting involved! And so do their kids. We ask that you do not coach your child from the sidelines- it is important that their focus remains on the coaches in the class.
If you don’t want to stay, you can always drop off your kid and get some time to yourself.
Probably not. You will find that martial arts can be a great sport for kids who are not good at sports. Our classes include a lot of individual work and partner work.
The journey from white belt to black belt is different for each student. But what is the same…. they improve coordination, balance, motor skills, focus and discipline. Plus, they make lots of great friends!
Our instructors are highly skilled in teaching martial arts for kids, and will help guide your kid throughout their journey.
This is probably the BEST kids activity for children who sit a lot!
Getting them active, without them realizing they are learning, is our skill. Kicking and punching pads is such a great stress relief, that kids blossom in all areas – because of their martial arts training.
Many Long Beach parents find that when their kids train at 360, they see a happier, more social child develop right before their eyes. It takes time, and you’ll be glad they started training.
